Response to Plato
Socrates means to say that someone would rather live a miserable reality than live a decent life that is not reality. In the story he says that the man who gets out of this cave will pity the others in it because he now knows reality and they are living a false reality. Even though these men think they are in reality and may recieve "honors and glories" among themselves, he would rather be without honors and glories but live in what is actually real. I do agree with this, because I think people would rather have a reality instead of living a good non-real life
